Christine Pray Awarded Kalon Leadership Scholarship

2013 Jul 29

Christine Pray will receive the Kalon Leadership Scholarship at Bethany College, an annual $2,500 award based on leadership, character, service and academic performance.

The Kalon Leadership Scholarship, which is for incoming freshmen, is competitive, and candidates are chosen by College faculty and staff through an application process that includes an interview and an essay discussing leadership achievements.

Christine Pray, a graduate of Canton High School, was chosen as a Kalon Scholar due to leadership positions she held, which included organizing events and fundraisers as her high school’s swim and dive team captain. Daughter of Barry and Leslie Pray, Christine furthered her leadership skills by while acting as assistant coach of the middle school swim team. Christine’s involvement also extended to her community, as she’s served as her church’s praise team leader. Christine will major in Communications and Media Arts at Bethany.

Kalon Scholarship maintenance is dependent upon student involvement in the College community, a good citizenship record and satisfactory academic progress.
