Grant Ashcraft Awarded Kalon Leadership Scholarship

2013 Jul 29

Grant Ashcraft will receive the Kalon Leadership Scholarship at Bethany College, an annual $2,500 award based on leadership, character, service and academic performance.

The Kalon Leadership Scholarship, which is for incoming freshmen, is competitive, and candidates are chosen by College faculty and staff through an application process that includes an interview and an essay discussing leadership achievements.

Grant Ashcroft, son of John and Deborah Ashcroft and graduate of Woodstown High School, was part of the swim team for ten years. As co-captain of the varsity team for the 2012-13 season, Grant helped lead the team to a winning season, and had one swimmer go to the state competition. He helped mentor underclassmen to lead the team in the future. Ashcroft will study Social Work at Bethany College.

Kalon Scholarship maintenance is dependent upon student involvement in the College community, a good citizenship record and satisfactory academic progress.
