Lee Ann Leggett Recognized During Annual Honors Day Awards at Bethany College

Bethany College awarded many of its exemplary students, faculty and staff with a variety of college-wide and departmental awards on April 12 during its annual Honors Day celebrations. The recipients, selected based on their demonstration of outstanding scholarship and other contributions to the College, were presented with their awards during the Honors Day Convocation held in Commencement Hall in Bethany's historic Old Main.

Lee Ann M. Leggett, a Education major, received the George K. Hauptfuehrer Award. Leggett, daughter of Charles Leggett and Richard and Denise Sines, resides in Toronto, Ohio.

The George K. Hauptfuehrer Award in music is sponsored by Sigma Tau Epsilon in honor of Professor Hauptfuehrer, former Professor of Music and Head of the Department of Music. The award is presented to a Bethany student who has demonstrated musical excellence and has participated actively in campus musical organizations. Preference is given to seniors.

Bethany College is a small college of national distinction located on a picturesque and historic 1,300-acre campus in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. Founded in 1840, Bethany is the state's oldest private college.
