Megan Lindley Awarded Kalon Leadership Scholarship

2013 Jul 29

Megan Lindley will receive the Kalon Leadership Scholarship at Bethany College, an annual $2,500 award based on leadership, character, service and academic performance.

The Kalon Leadership Scholarship, which is for incoming freshmen, is competitive, and candidates are chosen by College faculty and staff through an application process that includes an interview and an essay discussing leadership achievements.

Megan Lindley, who will study Business Administration at Bethany, held numerous positions at Bentworth High School. Those include captain of her varsity cheerleading squad, and she was also section leader for the marching and concert bands both her junior and senior years. Daughter of Ken and Gina Lindley, Megan volunteered through the Olivia Scott Foundation, collecting prom dresses for underprivileged teenagers. She is also active in her church, serving as an assistant priest and aiding with bible study.

Kalon Scholarship maintenance is dependent upon student involvement in the College community, a good citizenship record and satisfactory academic progress.
